今期第1回目

前期と比べて倍位の人数。冬学期は、2年生も後期の事業に出られるので受講者が増えるらしい。

ShakespeareのA Midsummer Night Dream(1999)を見る。

ShakespeareのA Midsummer Night Dream(1999)の続きを最後まで見て、その後で次のテーマについて小グループに別れて話し合いをした。

Please consider the following questions while watching A Midsummer Night’s Dream:

1,How many worlds does the play/film present to us?
2.What are there parallel and connection between these worlds?
3. Why does the play/film present the audience with a performance of the tedious brief scene of Pyramus (ピラムス)　and Thisbe　(ディスベ)?
4. Is there any political message in the play/film?
5. Is / are there any character(s) in the play who are disruptive in any way?
6. Does the play/film help you to understand why humans construct social events (books, plays, films, jokes, cartoons)that will casue them to laugh?

先週見たShakespeareのA Midsummer Night Dreamを見て意見の交換が行われた。

後半はCharlie Chaplinの生涯について先生の説明があった。

先週に引き続きCharlie Chaplinの経歴についての説明があり、続いて次の映画を見た。

2, Easy Street

来週は3.the Immigrantを見て次のことについて話し合う。

(1)Relate each film to what was talked about after watching a Midsummer Night's dream
(2)Analyze the plot and characters in each film, particularly the character played by C
(3)Relate the films to one another in terms of plot and character development.What remains the same? What changes?

菊島の発言In Midsummer Night’s Dream, satire to class system (hierarchical) system between aristocracy and workmen is described.
In a similar way, in Chaplin’s films, we can find criticism against the existence of the poor and the rich, the strong and the weak. Especially in Easy Street, poverty, starvation, drug addiction, and urban violence – subjects that foreshadow the social concerns are interwoven.

来週は、Caplin, Kaurel and Hardy, Keatonの3グループの映画についてのデスカッションを行う。

Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy, Keatonの纏めとして、簡単なテストを行った。

Romantic Comediesの一つである、Philadilphea Storyを途中まで見る。
